I am a LGBTQ/queer identified therapist who will challenge you to work on becoming the happier, healthier self you envision. I have been known to be direct with my clients, but I ensure it is with empathy and often humor. I think it is important to laugh together and find light in even the darkest moments. I believe that providing feedback is the best way to challenge behavior patterns and to ultimately help you connect with your own strengths and utilize your inner resiliency to thrive. In other words, once we have a working relationship, I am not afraid to call you on your shit and point out patterns that we've identified are not working.
We will work together to identify a treatment plan that best fits your needs as no two client's goals are ever exactly the same. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches, though I am also trained in other modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). To take out the therapy language, I am passionate about working with my clients to identify solutions. My ultimate goal is to get you to a place where you don't need me anymore. I don't feel most people need to be in therapy forever. I strive to have every session feel that we are making progress towards whatever goals you set for yourself.
